My Bead soup Arrived

happy mail today. I got my BEAD SOUP from Nikki Banham-Hall in the UK. I think the British postal system beat Canada Post as we mailed our packages on the same day.  I got mine today, just over a week from Britain to Kilmarnock ON. Not bad at all.
Here is the great mix Nikki sent me
they include: -hand made ceramic beads ( one focal leaf pendant and three pairs of coordinating rounds )from BLUEBERRI BEADS in the UK.; great big smokey quartz rounds , some are very light in colour and some are almost opaque grey,( that's the great thing about natural stones, there is so much variety from one bead to another.); the medium size ones are fossil stone, so creamy and soft in colour, and finally gorgeous faceted amethysts (my mom's birthstone) and a handmade toggle clasp in copper.
I love this mix of colours and I have a thing for LEAF focals, love them, and this one is stunning and purple, my fave colour .
thanks to Nikki for this great soup , i already have some ideas churning in my head about what to make with all these fab beads. I don't think I'll have to use any of my stash to make something spectacular. we'll see >>wink<<
I hope Nikki gets her soup soon. Can't wait to hear if she likes it. (hope she does)
Update: Nikki got her beads the same day so the postal race is a tie.
pop on over to  her blog to see what I sent.

Bead Soup Blog Party

I got my partners name for the upcoming BEAD SOUP BLOG PARTY.
Time to get my package on the road to her. It will have to wait till Monday as my postal outlet isn't open on the weekend. This will give me time to add a few more bits to the parcel.
Can't wait to see what she sends me and what we make with our BEAD SOUP.
This is going to be SUCH FUN.
Once I know she has received the soup I'll post a photo for you to see the goodies I sent.

what have I been up to?

Well for starters I am taking an online wire-work class , ASPIRE TO WIRE with Kerry Bogart, and so far I haven't hurt myself or poked an eye out using wire, and I have been successful with the projects that I have completed. However I am tardy with taking photos and putting them online.

One of the comments left on my blog led me to another Jewellery artist Lori Anderson who is the lady responsible for the very popular Bead Soup Blog Party. I managed to apply in time and am now waiting to find out who my partner is, so I can mail off my bead soup package. I am excited to take part in this yearly event that I've only read about and heard about for the past two years . (so I'm a bit slow off the mark to get involved.)
Plus I've been busy making valentines favours for craft shows I'm selling at in January and early February. So I hope I'm forgiven for not posting here very often.
I will get better at this blogging , I sure can't get worse. lol

Happy New Year

well the holiday season has come and almost gone and I have had some time to play.
As part of my new year goals , I am taking part in a monthly craft sale in my town and am busy making cards for Valentines Day.

I am working on clearing out my paper stash, so this one uses blush textured cardstock,  some retired ribbon from a set that coordinated with one of our paper packs. the stamp is from the Whoo's Your Valentine January promo from Close to my Heart.
Pink and chocolate go so well together, don't they.
this one uses blush CS again; also the diagonal hearts embossing folder from Crafts Too, it works so well with CTMH white core cardstock when sanded.
the stamp is from the Whoo's your Valentine promo this month.
again pink and chocolate . now I'm getting hungry for sugar.

Check back later for more cards. Not only am I on a roll making them but also taking photos.
whoo hoo for New Years Goals.
